Financial concerns and challenges are often prevalent in Domestic Violence Abuse and Coercive Control situations. Finances can be a way for the perpetrator to control their non-violent partners and children, by withholding funds, controlling spending, monitoring spending patterns, financial neglect and humiliation. They can also adopt ‘micro-controls’ and create barriers to phone credit, transport, paying bills to keep the non-violent partner trapped. In this section, we hope to offer you an insight in how this is used.
