Health/Mental Health
Extensive research finds a correlation between Domestic Violence Abuse and Coercive Control being associated with depression, anxiety, PTSD and can lead to substance misuse and addiction as a means of coping. This can often have severe and long terms impacts on the health and mental health of those who have experienced or are living with DVA. Exposure to domestic violence also has a significant impact on children’s health and mental health. Many studies have found strong links between poorer educational outcomes and higher levels of mental health problems.
