Network of support
‘Unity is strength…when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved’
Mattie Stephanek
The Clare Local Area Network have been collaborating since 1997 and in 2024 has 18 member agencies.
Over the last 27 years the members and their respective agencies have benefited from this relationship in a number of ways.
1. Resource Sharing: By pooling our resources, each agency has access to a wider range of tools, expertise, and information, which leads to more comprehensive solutions to complex problems.
2. Enhanced Communication: This well-structured network fosters open lines of communication, allowing for the timely exchange of information and ideas and leading to a more coordinated effort across local agencies.
3. Diverse Perspectives: In bringing together different agencies each month incorporates a variety of perspectives and expertise. This diversity leads to more innovative ways to raise awareness about domestic abuse and coercive control in County Clare.
4. Improved Problem Solving: With more minds working together, inter-agency networks can tackle challenges more effectively. Collaborative efforts often lead to more thorough analysis and well-rounded approaches to addressing issues.
5. Increased Opportunities: When multiple agencies work together, they can identify opportunities to fulfil our mission. This has enabled the Clare Local Area Network to receive funding for publications and events to raise awareness and provide support for families, services and practitioners in County Clare.
6. Support and Mentorship: Members support each other sharing best practices and providing guidance.
7. Resilience: The Clare Local Area Network helps to distribute risk among various agencies, reducing the burden on any single organisation and enhancing overall resilience when facing challenges.
Overall, our supportive inter-agency network creates a stronger, more resilient framework for understanding and responding to domestic abuse and coercive control, ultimately leading to a more effective service delivery and positive outcomes for the communities that they serve.
